What makes um:i different?
Our game mechanics put the action in interaction, setting um:i apart from the many games that focus only on talking and conversation. And while talking is a great first step, it rarely leads to the lasting behavioral change and script-free intimacy we aim to create with um:i.
How many players is the game for?
Playdate for two is designed specifically for two players. We’re already working on versions for larger groups—stay tuned and sign up to our newsletter to stay in the pleasure loop!
Where and how is um:I produced?
From the start, we chose to prioritize ethical production over cheap drop shipping. That’s why we produce our card game sustainably in Germany, using FSC-certified processes. You won’t see the FSC logo on our packaging, though, as we also wanted to honor our unique design’s clean look.

Right now, we produce in small batches, which means higher costs but also extra care in every set. As we grow, we’re excited to make um:i more accessible—without ever compromising on quality, or the magic that makes it so special.
Is um:i also available as a digital game?
No, we deliberately chose not to create a digital version. Why? Because we aim to deepen human connection with all senses, and the swipe logic of a screen just doesn’t do justice to the tingling excitement baked into um:i.
Can I play um:i with friends as well?
Playdate for two was designed for two people to connect on a deeper, more intimate level. The game’s final phase, Suddenly wonderful, is quite explicit, so it’s best suited for a private setting, not a game night with friends. That said, we’re already working on a playdate version specifically for groups of friends!
